The University of Tulsa Division of Continuing Education Presents:
Did you ever wonder what that “little brown job” was? Where you can go birding? What kind of equipment you need? How to choose a field guide? If one bird seed is better than another? Bird watching can be a lifelong hobby. Join us for two Tuesday evenings and two Saturday mornings as Susie shares her passion and knowledge for birds. You will learn how to identify birds by their field marks, behavior, vocalizations, and their habitat and season. We will review differences in field guides, how to choose binoculars and other equipment, the ethics of bird watching, where to bird and with whom. We will discuss differences in bird seed and feeders with an optional visit to a local nature store. Whether you want to learn more about the birds at your feeder or you want to venture beyond the backyard, this class will give you the skills and confidence to bird watch.
Susie Ruby is a graduate of OSU with a graduate degree in Outdoor Recreation. She is a Certified Heritage Interpreter, and is retired from a career as Interpretive Naturalist at Oxley Nature Center. She is a member of the Oklahoma Ornithological Society.

Tuesdays, March 12 and 19: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Saturdays, March 23 and 30: 8:00 - 11:00 a.m.
