Florida (Central) Club

Dear TU Central Florida Alumni,

What an amazing time to be a Tulsa Golden Hurricane, living in Florida!

I am Joe “Joey De” DeLustro,’08, one of your two Central Florida Club representatives. As a relatively new Floridian, I’m excited to bring together fellow Golden Hurricane. Following my graduation from TU, I interned at Walt Disney World, which led to four years of traveling to Florida during peak seasons, before relocating. Now, I support Resort Food & Beverage Operations at Walt Disney World, while pursuing my entrepreneurial interests. I volunteer often in the community and love Orange Avenue.

Your second representative, Fred Bates, ’68, has retired to Sanford, FL following a distinguished law career in the Northeast. Although technically “retired", Fred fills plenty of time with his wife volunteering throughout the community and as the National Training Chair for AARP. Fred also sits on the boards of several organizations that provide services to seniors.

Our goal with the Central Florida Club is to gather around our shared experiences at the University so that we may reunite old friends and to meet new ones. We would like to create opportunities such as watch parties to bolster school pride, happy hours to unwind, and family events that take advantage of the many attractions Florida has to offer. Some of you receiving this are as far away as Tallahassee and Key West, but we still invite you to connect and to share your TU legacy with the over 700 TU alumni who call Florida home.

If you would like to get involved in the Central Florida Club, or have ideas on events or ways we can better serve the TU Alumni in the Central Florida area, feel free to join our Facebook group or email us at tualumnicentralfl@gmail.com. Also join our groups on LinkedIn and Twitter.

We look forward to meeting you soon!
