The 2024 Distinguished Alumni, J. Paschal Twyman winner and Mr. Homecoming will be honored during Homecoming weekend at the 2024 Distinguished Alumni Celebration on Thursday, October 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the Lorton Performance Center, at the Bonfire and Pep Rally on Friday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m. on Dietler Commons (formerly known as "The U") and at halftime during the football game on Saturday, October 26.

Introduced in 1972, The University of Tulsa Alumni Association annually presents accomplished alumni with the Association's highest honor - The Distinguished Alumni Award.
This award is given to recognize outstanding achievement by an alumnus or alumna in a particular discipline, organization or cause. Distinguished Alumni honorees are a great credit to The University of Tulsa and all alumni share in the celebration of their collective achievements.
Recognition is open to any alumnus or alumna of The University of Tulsa who has distinguished himself or herself by rendering extraordinary service and achievement to a particular discipline, organization, or cause on an international, national, statewide, or local basis. Basic qualities of good character and citizenship, as well as a demonstrated commitment of service to The University of Tulsa, shall also be considered. The recipient of the award must be present at the annual awards ceremony to accept the honor. No current employee of TU or current member of the TU Alumni Association Board of Directors is eligible for the award.

The J. Paschal Twyman award was established by the TU Alumni Association after the late president’s death to honor any TU alumnus/a, student, faculty or staff member, or friend of the university for outstanding contributions to the university, “far and beyond the call of duty.” The honoree should possess some of the qualities Twyman admired, including leadership and commitment.
