Volunteer Engagement & Leadership

A strong network depends on active alumni. Recruiting volunteers ensures long-term success, fresh ideas, and deeper connections within the TU community.

Why People Volunteer

  • Passion for TU and its mission
  • Networking and meeting new people
  • Staying connected after relocating
  • Sense of purpose and achievement
  • Recognition and fun!

How to Find Volunteers

  • Ask at events - A simple invitation goes a long way.
  • Recent grads - Especially those who were student leaders.
  • Past Volunteers - Keep them engaged and encourage them to invite friends.
  • Ask for help - The Office of Alumni Engagement can provide names of alumni in your area, including former student leaders.

Tips for Volunteer Engagement

  • Show appreciation
  • Give meaningful responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and clear expectations
  • Create pathways for leadership
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment

Benefits of Volunteering

Volunteers gain visibility, sharpen leadership skills, and expand their personal and professional networks - while giving back to TU.

Growing a Culture of Leadership & Giving

Create an environment where alumni feel encouraged to contribute their time, talent, and support. A thriving network is built on shared ownership, active participation, and a commitment to philanthropy and service.
